Drew founded Palmetto Commercial Real Estate in early 2001 after seventeen successful years in the commercial real estate field. Since the inception of his company, Palmetto Commercial Real Estate has become an industry leader among the commercial firms throughout North and South Carolina. Palmetto Commercial Real Estate is a full service brokerage firm specializing in office, retail, industrial, land and income properties.

Mr. Chaplin has sold or leased over 6.3 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space in his twenty plus years in the commercial real estate business. His diversification into all market sectors of the business has rewarded him the opportunity to broker an extensive number of high profile retail and office projects totaling over 1.85 million square feet of improved space. He has sold over 1,210 acres of unimproved commercial land for industrial, office, retail, hospitality and food & beverage uses.

Prior to starting his present company, Mr. Chaplin was Vice President and Sales Manager of Coldwell Banker Commercial Seaboard Properties of Florence where he was a board member and one of the original associate's in the company that began in 1993.

Mr. Chaplin began his real estate career in Charlotte, NC with the nation’s largest commercial real estate services company, CB Richard Ellis. As a senior associate he specialized for eight years in large manufacturing and distribution facilities in both North and South Carolina. During his tenure with CB, Mr. Chaplin consistently ranked in the top five industrial brokers in the Southeast, with in CB Richard Ellis.

Mr. Chaplin, a Hartsville, South Carolina native and 1977 graduate of the University of South Carolina, has held regional sales positions with General Electric Power Systems and Siemens Energy and Automation prior to joining CB Richard Ellis in 1985. With an emphasis on community involvement, Mr. Chaplin is a member of the First Baptist Church of Florence, past board member of the local Area Rescue Mission, advisory board member of the University of South Carolina School of Hospitality and Retail Sales, an active member of Florence County Progress and Florence County Economic Development, Planning Commissioner with the City of Florence, a board member of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, active member of the Kiwanis Club of Florence, and a active member of USTA Tennis. He is a strong advocate for outdoor sports and recreation and enjoys the time spent with his nineteen year old triplets in the variety of outdoor activities available in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina.
