Florence Welcomes Field Fastener
Field Fastener strategically locates to Florence, South Carolina to grow their business and better serve their clients.
The community of Florence continues to grow, as Field, an Illinois based distribution company specializing in fasteners, makes the heart of the Pee Dee a new home. This global distributor of fasteners and other Class “C” items currently occupies the previous printing plant for The Morning News located on Otis Way.
Field’s decision to expand into South Carolina is very strategic. The company currently supplies customers in Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. With a location in the Southeastern United States, the organization can build off its current success and expand its market share in this geographic region. With Florence’s proximity to I-20, Field is positioned well to supply both their current clients and potential new business.
The company is now accepting applications from prospective employees for this new site. Tim Firm, the director of human resources for Field, is currently interviewing potential new hires. The organization will initially employ 12 to 15 people but hopes to hire more as business grows.
Field was founded by Dick Field in 1976, and is based in Machesney Park, IL, a suburb of Rockford, IL. In 1990, the current chairman and president, Bill Derry and Jim Derry respectively, purchased Field. Under their leadership, the business flourished, processes improved, and accolades were earned, such as being ISO 9001 registered. In addition to its Illinois headquarters, the organization also operates a facility in Tyler, TX, and two warehouses in Mexico.
Field defines their unique value proposition as being a full-service engineering partner that uses data to inform their business decisions. In addition to their engineering expertise, the company offers supply chain solutions and inventory management for their clients. By overseeing their customers' inventory, Field ensures no fastener materials are ever depleted.
However, what Field prides itself the most in is its relational approach to business, with the company’s main slogan stating, “More Than Parts. A Partner.” This business philosophy not only translates into Field’s interactions with its customers and suppliers, but also into the community where the organization resides. Field values corporate citizenship, which further validates their mission statement, “To have everyone who interacts with us LOVE us!”
Field is excited to be in Florence and learn more about the area. Its building will be receiving a makeover soon, and Rich Rowlett will be the site leader for Florence. If one is interested in applying, applications are found online. More information about the mission, vision, and values of Field can be located at their website, fieldfastener.com.
Florence is excited for its future with Field!
